2025 Bonsai Mekiri en Hagari Workshop, Wednesday, June 18 19:00-22:00

This workshop is for advanced students, people who already have enough basic knowledge and want to work on their own trees.

Always wanted to know more about candling pines or leaf pruning in deciduous trees, in this workshop we will go deeper into Mekiri and Hagari also species specific.
We will learn which deciduous trees may be pruned back to what extent in June. On what species do we do leaf pruning and what does that look like for that species. Furthermore, we go deep into the technique of candling the different pine species. Pruning in June is about balance in the tree, how to distribute the energy of the bonsai.
In addition, we will cover taking care of the bonsai after these techniques.

Bring 1 large bonsai or several smaller ones to apply these scholar techniques to. E.g. Pine, Acer Buergerianum, Beech etc.
