The Satsuki azalea is a very popluar type of bonsai due to its gorgeous flowers when in full bloom. It is not a tree but a shrub and the flowers comes in a range of radiant colors. Azaleas are members of the Rhodendron family. Satsuki in Japanese means "fifth month", or late spring—the time that most Satsuki go into full bloom.
