The azalea takes bonsai to a different level. Like a range of other bonsai that have in common that they are not a tree but a bush, and that they are grown for its flowers. Those who have stayed in the Spring in the Alps or Dolomites have perhaps seen in the wild the flowering azaleas and this is a real experience. In Japan this plant is much more in the wild. We must not forget that Japan is mainly a mountainous region and it is also an island that make it ideal living conditions for this beautiful shrub.
